WebApp

Sometimes the road to independence starts with a small need. For me it was one website that led to building a system of my own, and a whole journey of entrepreneurship, design and development. What began as a small idea became a product that still serves businesses today.

The need

Back in 2012 I started building WebApp. I had no plan to build a big system, just a website that needed content management and a client looking for a convenient solution for his daily work.

As the system grew, I realised what I had built could serve other businesses too. Each had its own needs, but many of the challenges were similar. That was the chance to turn a one-off solution into a product that could be extended, adapted and developed over time.

My work

WebApp was one of the most important milestones on my way to going independent.

On this project I was responsible for everything, from product specification and understanding the business needs, through user experience and interface design, to building the system end to end.

But the work didn't end at launch. I kept supporting clients, listening to needs from the field and building solutions that became part of their daily work.

Every client brought a new world of challenges and ideas. That is how the system grew, and with it my understanding of the link between technology, user experience and business needs.

From a CMS to a CRM platform

WebApp began as a content management system for websites, but over the years clients' needs grew.

Managing customers, tracking enquiries, business processes and further modules gradually became part of the product. That is how the system grew from a CMS into a platform that also combines CRM and business process management.

This growth didn't come from a grand plan written in advance, but from listening to clients and wanting to meet real needs.

Even today, years after the first line of code, businesses keep using the system. For me, that is one of the most satisfying things about creating a product.

See it live

On the WebApp website you can get to know the system and the solutions it offers. The admin area itself is used by active clients, and I'd be happy to show it to you in a call.

What I take from the project

WebApp taught me that a good product doesn't end on the day it launches.

It keeps evolving with the people who use it, with changing business needs and with the challenges that come along the way.

Building a product of my own, taking full responsibility for it and supporting it over years is something I bring to every new project.

I work with product companies, organisations and startups on UX, design and development.

Let's create something together.
A new product or a challenge in an existing one?
I'd love to hear about it and think it through together.
