Weekend, one of Israel's leading holiday sites. Booked a holiday? We've probably met. As part of a rebranding, I had the privilege of redesigning the site and building its front end. The goal was to give a long-standing brand a fresh, modern experience, one that starts the holiday excitement from the very first moment.
The need
There is a moment when you start imagining your next holiday. A weekend for two, a few days with the kids or a get-together with friends. Then come the photos, the options and the dilemmas.
The challenge was to create an experience that lets people soak up the places and the atmosphere on one hand, and easily find the information they need to choose and book on the other.
All of this as part of renewing a long-standing site, with an existing system, an older technical foundation and information that had to be kept.
My work
On this project I was responsible for redesigning the user experience and interfaces, and for front-end development.
The work combined thinking about the search and booking flows, organising the content, visual hierarchy and responsive design for a comfortable experience on desktop and mobile.
One of the interesting challenges was connecting the new design with the existing system. This was not building a product from scratch, but creating a new experience on top of a foundation that was already running.
Working in both design and development let me guide the process from thinking about the interface to the actual build, while keeping the existing components and information intact.
See it live
Enough talk, your turn. Visit Weekend, search for your next holiday and see how the experience begins long before you reach the destination.
